Divya D I liked it, Anil Kapoor's and Neety Singh's acting stole the show. I genuinely laughed, smiled and cried. Light hearted but with a good theme Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/01/23 Full Review Manisha s Recently watched Jug Jugg Jeeyo, it's a One time Watch. A typical Karan Johar Film, right after the trailer i felt it's a 2.0 Version of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and it was like that. Pairing of Neetu Kapoor with Anil Kapoor and Kiara Advani and Varun Dhawan was okish, casting could have been better for that role . I really liked the pair of Prajakta Koli and Varun sood. Manish Paul was the only one to add some comedy. All the actors played their part well. " Dupatta" is the underrated song from whole album and "Rangsari" was actually not required. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/24/23 Full Review Sarthak B This film was really hard hitting for me. I didn't expect at all for this film to be handle it's subject matter of Divorce this well. First off, I was happy to give this film a 5 star tating if it wasn't for those cringe, unfunny and old-ass jokes. Not gonna lie, Anil Kapoor's dialogue delivery makes some of them seem funny, but mostly it's a disappointment and just take you out of the moment. I get it that's is supposed to be a dramatic comedy but I just feel the jokes were better in Raj Mehta's previous directorial that was Good Newwz. In that film however, I didn't understand what exactly they were trying to say whereas here it's more clear. Varun Dhawan's performance is off the charts here. He really gives it his best here. It may not be as good as him in Badlapur or October but it certainly is touching that range. His one scene of a series of arguments with Kiara Advani where they both go all out blurting at each other's faces was a riveting and intense watch. There is also another scene with him and Maniesh Paul at the last act of the film (which I won't spoil) which felt so powerful. Neetu Kapoor was the shining star of the film. She packs an emotional punch and hers is the character which is the most consistent, has the best arc and delivers some of the most beautiful lines of the film. Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli do their jobs fairly well but onw thing I have to say is nobody could've played the part other than Anil Kapoor because he's just so damn funny in delivering his lines. Songs were nice but felt as if they were put for just their tunic value except for a few like in the first act, the song plays Tum Jo Gaye which is really shot beautifullly and hits perfectly. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review Suresh G make up - break up - make up relationships... with cheap comedy. Not worth wasting time Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/02/22 Full Review SUPER FANDOM EDITS This film was really hard hitting for me. Overall, I'd say go watch it, it's a good time. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/24/22 Full Review Audience Member I watched Jugjugg Jeeyo last night and am still marveling at the ingenious metacommentary of this film. It can only be an act of pure inspiration to make a movie about bad marriages wherein the act of watching the movie accurately captures the desperate, trapped feeling of a bad marriage. You technically know you can walk out, but you labour on in the deluded hope that things will get better. Spoiler alert: they don't. The fact that it costs the same amount of money to watch this movie as it did to watch Top Gun: Maverick makes me doubt everything I believed about free markets. I've never come closer to becoming a Communist. What's frustrating is that lost somewhere inside this carnival of horrors is the soul of a good movie. The premise of parents and children navigating their respective divorces together could have made for a heartfelt drama, and in fact the few moments when this movie is compelling is when it embraces this dramatic tone. Diector Raj Mehta was an assistant on Kapoor & Sons and I think this movie should have felt more like that one. Instead, it inexplicably chooses to be a juvenile comedy. The script is so sparse that it replays the same scenarios - and sometimes even conversations - over and over again. Take a shot everytime you hear someone say something like "Shaadi mein pyaar hai, lekin samjhauta bhi hai" and you just might end up as drunk as the poor cast probably were when they decided to sign on for this mess. As a teetotaler, I'm still wondering what my justification was for watching it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani film falls back on the familiar Big Fat Punjabi Wedding with opulent sets and wedding naach-gaana every time things threaten to get real and spiky.
