Set in 1301 at the end of Medieval times, the JULIET & ROMEO Franchise finds our most famous Star-Crossed lovers turning the tides on the history Shakespeare based his own story on, as they reveal the truth to the very future of the Empire. But the biggest twist in this most beloved of tales, is leaving the poetry of Iambic Pentameter in the past, for the original Pop Music that rockets these ever-present themes right to the heart of our characters in the most surprising, and perhaps most powerful way that has ever been seen, or heard, before... the greatest love story of all time, set to the greatest music of our time.

Nell Minow Movie Mom At one point Romeo sort of proposes by telling Juliet he wants to “turn our prose into poetry.” This screenplay has done the reverse. Rated: C May 9, 2025 Full Review William Bibbiani TheWrap Never was a film I’m more likely to forget, than this of Romeo and his Juliet. May 9, 2025 Full Review Alonso Duralde The Film Verdict Director Bogart tends to drain the romance and the excitement from the source material: The camera is rarely where it needs to be to capture the choreography (either the dancing or the sword-fighting kind), and his soundstage Verona rarely comes to life. May 8, 2025 Full Review Mark Dujsik Mark Reviews Movies [T]he entire production is a grandly misguided failure. Rated: 0.5/4 May 9, 2025 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru A cringe-inducing, shallow and overlong musical that butchers the classic story and almost turns it into a parody. William Shakespeare is rolling in his grave. May 9, 2025 Full Review Al Alexander Movies Thru the Spectrum The titular lovers in Timothy Scott Bogart’s reimagined “Juliet & Romeo” aren’t just star-crossed, they’re stilted and boring, occupying a film so wrongheaded it’s hard to know where to begin chronicling its claim on worst picture of the year. Christian I'm not really a musical person, but this was a solid movie with great musical numbers! 👏🏽 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/09/25 Full Review JJ M What a fun film! Its been a while since Wicked that we have seen such a fun film!!! Love the chemistry between the actors, the music was so fun and I cannot stop singing the songs!!!! Went with my daughter and she absolutely loved it, was such a fun time!! Was so lovely to see Rebel in such a great role, and of course Jason Isaacs is a dream!! We loved the ending!!!!!!!!!!!! Its worth a watch if you love musicals!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/09/25 Full Review Hilary C This movie takes dreary Shakespeare and livens it up with catchy pop songs that are still playing in my head a day after seeing this delightful film! Dan Fogler and Sir Derek Jacobi steal the show with their performances as the apothecary and friar. Clara Rugaard and Jamie Ward are a breath of fresh air as Julie & Romeo. Loved this movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/09/25 Full Review Clayton N Normally love musicals but this was the worst movie I seen in a long time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/08/25 Full Review Random Mexican's M Timothy Scott Bogart's ambitious retelling of the "real" story of Romeo and Juliet is a visual feast for the eyes and ears especially if you enjoy original pop musicals. The story has been done much better in past films.. It made me sleepy just to watch it, but the musical track director deserves props for trying to salage a boring movie into a semi watchable one. Should be on Netflix in 30 days if you want to save your money.. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/08/25 Full Review Read all reviews
