Ian S Oof, It feels like and educational film with a horrible plot line. The first half is just commercializing kids to tell on others and telling them to read the dictionary. The second half is just the horrible plot line (If you can consider it one). Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/24 Full Review christopher c. m First the animals designs are very inconsistent. Some are anthropomorphized and others aren't. Pick a lane, why is the frog standing straight wearing clothes and Jumbo is on all fours and a nudist? Pick a lane! Also, I can see Jumbo faking amnesia because of being scared but total memory loss don't happen because a jerk threatens you. There several of these shitting "animation" studios and I use the word animation loosely. WowNow Entertainment is one of them. Again, I use the word "entertainment" loosely. As they are also being the two "Zoo Wars" movies. The animation such as it is looks like it was made on a "Windows Movie Maker" installed on a "Tandy 1000" with about 50 megs of RAM. This is better than "April Fools Fight" but worse than "Pixy Dragons". But all of them suck. How these homemade movies on a broken Mac-Book gets a distributor is beyond me. Then again I think ITN will distribute anything if the price is right. Note, having a computer from a thrift shop and a cheap animation program don't make you Pixar. STOP IT! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I wanted to like this movie and was honestly intrigued by a description I read somewhere saying it was like a combination of Cronenberg's Crash and Amélie, but it tries way too hard to be "sweet" and "quirky". It's really just following the misadventures of a selfish, whiny brat with an unflattering haircut who cries and throws tantrums throughout because no one understands her love for this ride. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Great and unexpected modern fairytale ! Crazy pitch and surprising take on it, this is a heartfelt movie that will take you on a ride to remember. I laughed and I cried. Thank you for the experience. A must see of 2020 ! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review michael d Starts as an interesting ride but the momentum kinda dies out. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A less gifted director would have tailored the whole film around this unusual romance, pushing for shock value and forgetting characters and story in the process. But Jumbo uses the love story as a device to plunge us into the life of the protagonist: an introverted girl who struggles to relate to the people surrounding her, and has great issues communicating with her mother. Her awkwardness and her silences make for a far more edgy cinematic experience than the uncouth sexual relationship. The main actresses shine throughout the film:  Noémie Merlant is absolutely credible as the shy, demure protagonist, and definitely rises to the challenge of convincing us that it is indeed possible to fall in love for a machine. Emmanuelle Bercot doesn't disappoint either and provides the energy and charisma that her daughter lacks. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews
