K Z I found this movie really quite boring. The beginning was interesting when June is being assessed & appearing symptomatic & lacking cognition, but then the whole movie was just a bore & dragged out aimlessly. At the very end it was interesting where she begins to lose cognition & insight again. But that's it. As a medical practitioner who works with dementia on a regular basis, this is definitely not a good reference to go by if someone is wanting to gain insight or learn about dementia & how it affects family dynamics. The VERY tiny parts at the start & finish are a drop in the ocean of what this disease is truly about. I've noticed alot of the positive reviews are from the 55 & over groups, so perhaps it isn't fitting for a younger person, even a health professional working with dementia regularly. I was easily distracted during this whole film & not kept entertained at all. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/08/23 Full Review Jiingles G Haven't seen a movie this good in awhile. Australian drama movie a must watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/11/23 Full Review Scott C A smiler and a crier of a film. Such fresh humor, sincere heart, and a wonderfully told story with outstanding performances. Chuckles and tears throughout. And a surprising and poignant ending. Wish there were more movies being made like this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/08/22 Full Review ray c Tear jerker. Easy to watch. Thoughtful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Andrea K Nicely done with family drama explored and a rekindling of a family relationship. Sad perspective of someone suffering from dementia getting a reprieve from the disease. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/10/22 Full Review jill l Definitely does not belong in the genre "Comedy". Somewhat reminiscent of the 1990 film "Awakenings". I imagine this is an especially sad movie for those, like me, with a loved one suffering from dementia and for those who fear developing dementia. I guess you have to hang on to the positive results she set in motion, the fences she mended, during her brief period of lucidity. Personal growth/transformation takes place, which always adds depth to a movie. Very good acting, particularly Noni Hazlehurst and Stephen Curry. Great production values.
