It's summer break and best friends Amélie, Bintou and Morjana hang together with other neighborhood teens. Nightly, they have fun sharing scary stories and urban legends. Despite its frightening character, unfortunately, Kandisha can not achieve its purpose, at least for me, due to the weakness of the editing and the story. There is a valuable and frightening cultural fear object to use, but the point is how to use it. Kandisha, can not use it properly.

Bland, uninspired and conventional. This wannabe Candyman only retains the basics but not the cleverness. Tries to set up a new boogeyman but fails miserably in doing so. There is no building of tension at any moments, not even jump scares instead you get just a few gory shots. On an interesting premise manages to forgo its social commentary for basic teen horror. Not that terrible but not even good, just passable. Another fail for what use to be a promising duo of directors in the genre.

It's fair to say I will watch anything from this classic horror duo writer-director team. It's hard to top Inside and Livid, but this was a pretty horror movie that failed to break any boundaries and failed to give the right amount of 'care factor' towards its fodder.
