Walter V. Addiego San Francisco Chronicle While it tells a remarkable and disturbing story, you may come away with a nagging sense that Kassim the Dream only skims the surface. Rated: 2/4 Aug 7, 2009 Full Review Daniel Eagan Hollywood Reporter Full of obvious good intentions, the film still suffers from a rambling narrative that leaves too many loose ends. Jun 8, 2009 Full Review Nathan Lee New York Times Kassim Ouma has, to say the least, an unusual life story....The filmmaker Kief Davidson recounts this vivid tale in the dull documentary. Rated: 2/5 Jun 5, 2009 Full Review David Harris Spectrum Culture It does provide a truthful moment of personal pain that is both searing and heartrending. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 9, 2019 Full Review Cynthia Fuchs PopMatters A former child soldier in Uganda, the boxer Kassim continues to wrestle with the effects of the violence he witnessed and committed. Audience Member " A profile of world champion boxer Kassim "The Dream" Ouma. Born in Uganda, he was kidnapped at age 6 by the rebel army and trained as a child soldier." 01/10/15 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member The subject for the documentary was heart-wrenching and beautifully portrayed. They captured some stunning shots of the Ugandan villages. Kassim's character was shown in a very full and human way. The criticism I have is this: There were questions that I had that the movie did not answer. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Most certainly a story worthy of the telling. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
