Ace K I loved this movie so much! I don't really watch romance so this was very palatable to someone like me, the jokes were really great and I was laughing the whole movie, I liked the 1800s set design and outfits; the mixture of modern and old style clothes that Leopard would wear in the modern time looked really nice and it was a nice touch! Hugh Jackman and Meg Ryan are both complete eye candy in this movie (though I wish they gave Meg a better hairstyle, just the times I guess...) I was surprisingly captivated by the many tender moments - beneath the comedy, is a touching love story, filled with 19th century intrigue and romance. Meg Ryan playing Kate McKay – has recently given up on a failed four year relationship, jaded by a series of disappointments, and has seemingly lost all hope of ever finding true love. Hugh Jackman, Leopold the Duke of Albany, is transported in time from 19th century to modern day New York City, and is immediately smitten by Kate. He employs the only approach he knows - 150 year old charm, seducing a hesitant Kate into his arms and eventually on a journey back in time. This movie successfully disproves the modern day myth - you can’t live a fairy tale! But I've never been disappointed by any movie with Meg Ryan. Is it her, the quality of the films she agrees to be in, or were the writers better 2 decades ago? I don't know.
