Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express A little more of the some-men-will never-change just like leopards and their spots would have made this Akshay Kumar-Taapsee Pannu film a no-holds-barred banger. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 19, 2024 Full Review Udita Jhunjhunwala Livemint Barring a few songs that slacken the narrative and a little preaching, Mudassar Aziz’s script and direction keep things moving along jauntily, even if in most scenes the actors are seated around a dining table. Aug 19, 2024 Full Review Anuj Kumar The Hindu Complemented by a competent cast, writer-director Muddassar Aziz adds pizazz to the Italian inspiration with Indigenous ingredients Aug 22, 2024 Full Review Dhaval Roy The Times of India Khel Khel Mein has minor flaws, but its smart writing, tight direction, and performances make it worth a watch, especially with a bunch of friends. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 19, 2024 Full Review Devesh Sharma Filmfare Watch the film for the laughs and life lessons and for the camaraderie displayed by the entire cast. They look like an actual group of friends supporting each other despite the hiccups and that’s the real learning from the film. Rated: 3/5 Aug 19, 2024 Full Review Ishita Sengupta OTTplay Khel Khel Mein swings so much that every time you feel it will take a misstep or make a commentary, it commits to neither and settles for laughs. Doms 2 This movie really made me think about all the relationship around me. If anyone who doesn’t have the ability to differentiate between right and wrong will absorb all the negative aspects of the movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/29/24 Full Review Sriram N Good masala entertainment with a “modern” twist, overall a good teenager-adult fun movie for a Netflix and chill night. Nice mix of comedy, drama with a dash of spicy mystery and thrills thrown in as well, and finally a happy as can be ending. Akshay provides the star power as usual with his unique brand of humor bundled in hero vibes. Its always good to see Fardeen Khan, the others provide strong support, and while all three heroines hold up their end of glamor and drama equally well, Tapsee stands out as usual in her ability to do full justice to a whole smorgasbord of moods and emotions. Mostly no boring passages in the movie and it’s short enough to keep you gripped with some nice twists and turns in the story that complete the full masala packaging. Easily worth the watch, and as the title says, it’s Khel Khel Mein so don’t go in looking for serious impactful cinema. Instead just go in ready for some nice fizzy pop-soda entertainment and you will get your money’s worth. A two thumbs up recommendation especially for fans of the Great Kumar!!!!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review Soumya S Making a legit comedy is not easy but Khel Khel Mein makes it look so effortless. Brilliant acting by all actors. I like the fact that it’s not moving away from the topic. It was very gripping and gave me and my partner unlimited laughter! Awesome work! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/23/24 Full Review Sharang L An ambitious attempt that ultimately falls short of achieving its lofty goals. Intermittently insightful, mostly banal. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/19/24 Full Review Audience Member Mudassar Aziz's Khel Khel Mein is a deadly game of revelations. The Happy Bhaag Jayegi director successfully dwells into how much we really know our friends and partners through this comic drama. The source material of the Italian movie Perfect Strangers is so relatable that it can fit in any language, not surprisingly the movie has seen numerous remakes. Akshay Kumar as Dr Risabh is a treat to watch with his brilliant comic timing. The movie is also mature in the way it talks about some of the topics. My full review available in website rigoberthareviews.com. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/19/24 Full Review Shailendra K Khel Khel Mein is a fairly entertaining movie with decent performances and some really funny situations and dialogs. It is an official remake of a 2016 Italian movie called Perfect Strangers, a movie never released in India or available on streaming and one that has been remade more than 25 times across the globe. However the online trend of hate towards remakes in Bollywood and Akshay Kumar prejudges and ignores the quality of movies.....talk about judging a book by its cover. Akshay Kumar shows several glimpses of his brilliant comic timing of his earlier years and does an overall great job in the movie. Vaani Kapoor looks and acts her part. Fardeen Khan gives a pretty decent, emotional and honest performance. His dialog delivery has improved a lot from his earlier years but still has some hints of what is misperceived as wooden and amateurish because of his accent. Ammy Virk and Taapsee Panu are hilarious as the 2 Harpreets and land some of the funniest lines of the movie. Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal also do a decent job in their respect roles. The actors are well cast and do a pretty good job. The story has been well adapted for India with witty dialogs and good direction. It is also fun to spot the celebrities who voice the phone calls that the characters receive in the movie. The movie is fast paced but the songs are a distraction from the fun and were not really needed. The second half of the movie is not as interesting and fun as the first half but still pretty engaging and watchable. Khel Khel Mein is a funny and entertaining movie that is worth enjoying with the family. 7/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/13/24 Full Review Read all reviews
