As a child, Phil Weston (Will Ferrell) was never able to live up to the demands of his overbearing father, Buck (Robert Duvall), who wanted Phil to be an athlete. Now a parent himself, Phil has inherited his father's competitive nature, while his son, Sam (Dylan McLaughlin), has inherited Phil's lack of athletic talent. Serving as Sam's soccer coach, Phil hopes to turn his last-place team of losers into champions, so they can beat the rival team coached by Buck.

Why are critics so jaded? You can't beat Ferrell's comic timing and self-depricating humor. Duvall and Ditka are masters of parody.

Watched Kicking and Screaming this year. This is a pretty good soccer movie. It is about a son named Phil who was never good at sports. His dad Buck runs a team and Phil’s kid plays on it, however he never really gets played so they trade him and he goes to a team where the coach does not show up so phil makes it his team and his nfl player Mike Ditka. He ends up going against his father and Phil wins and the bet they made before was he won he got the pele ball which was taken from him by his dad when he was a kid. The quality is good. The storytelling is great and the acting from both Will Ferrell and Robert Duvall is just purely amazing. Overall I would rate this movie 4.5 stars out of 5 stars. My favorite scene is when all the kids say meat comes first. I would recommend this movie.

Filme bacana, o roteiro é bacaninha, as cenas são bacaninhas, o elenco é bacaninha, e só o will ferrell e o Robert duvall ajudam a melhorar o filme, a história é bacaninha, com tudo isso, eu meio que recomendo esse filme de sessão da tarde.

Synopsis
