When teenagers Mike (Grant Cramer) and Debbie (Suzanne Snyder) see a comet crash outside their sleepy small town, they investigate and discover a pack of murderous aliens who look very much like circus clowns. They try to warn the local authorities, but everyone assumes their story is a prank. Meanwhile, the clowns set about harvesting and eating as many people as they can. It's not until they kidnap Debbie that Mike decides it's up to him to stop the clowns' bloody rampage.

Max Allen Horror Movie Talk Killer Klowns from Outer Space has long been one of my favorite horror movies. It’s low budget and very over the top, but I find it charming and entertaining to watch clowns wrap people in cotton candy cocoons that burn their flesh off. Rated: 10/10 Aug 6, 2025 Full Review Wesley Lovell Cinema Sight A solid script and a killer score by John Massari prevent Killer Klowns from fading into obscurity like a lot of 80s horror. Rated: 1.5/4 Jul 6, 2025 Full Review Joshua Ryan FandomWire The thing that stands out most about Killer Klowns From Outer Space is the level of creativity and commitment to the bit. Rated: 8/10 Oct 1, 2024 Full Review Joe Lipsett Queer.Horror.Movies. Killer Klowns from Outer Space is an utter delight. Packed with visual gags, exciting set pieces, and those incredibly memorable titular antagonists, the film is a fantastic piece of easily digestible entertainment. Rated: 4/5 May 15, 2024 Full Review Kristy Strouse Film Inquiry Killer Klowns From Outer Space is an amusing romp, bound to keep its classic status as it remains an imaginative sci-fi that excels in its effects and costumes bringing this horrifying sideshow to life. Oct 7, 2023 Full Review Jason Shawhan Nashville Scene Funny but also genuinely disturbing (there's something immediately dangerous about these clowns), Killer Klowns has dozens of images and moments that will stick in your subconscious. Benjamin G best movie ever... vampire clowns...cotton candy cacoons and lots laughs. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Romas M Greetings from Lithuania. "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" (1988) is a slasher movies parody, with Clowns serving as killers this time. And yes - they came from space. If the premise sounds like a camp film that was probably written by a writer who was on high and was on a marathon of "Friday the 13th" movies - it might be the case. On the other hand, this film isn't taking itself seriously (obviously), and its a fun film. Its a B movie horror comedy with a lavish colors throughout the film, acting that is on a verge of a parody, and killer clowns doing some ingenuine kills. Overall, "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" is exactly the type of the movie that you can get the idea of from a title. Yet its done with a sense of parody, and it works, if you are in a right mood for it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/25 Full Review Nick O Everyone knows that the Chiodo Brothers are monster movie FX geniuses, but nowhere else will you find this much Chiodo madness in one goop-fest of a great movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/22/25 Full Review Audience Member Little pro tip. If you go into this expecting to be scared, you'll be disappointed. But this movie is more of a comedy like the minecraft movie. The movie knows it's goofy and it embraces it, which makes this movie a must see fpr comedy horror films. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/17/25 Full Review Alexander T This movie is amazing. The clown things are really weird but in a good way.
