Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard The 24-year-old's malnourished lips, and politeness, are what stick in the brain. Rated: 2/5 Nov 22, 2013 Full Review Mike McCahill Guardian Proves generally prosaic and unimaginative, reliant on authors rehashing arguments already proposed elsewhere and stiff reconstructions that only bury Oswald as an ongoing person of interest. Lois G Finally, the truth about what happened back in Nov, 1963. There is no doubt in my mind that Kennedy was killed by the Mafia. JFK.'s father, Joe, was a scum bag and Nazi. Joe Kennedy WOULD DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING TO HAVE his son become President Joe used the Mafia to fix the election in West Virginia, and I believe Chicago. Then Robby becomes Attorney General and started going after the Mafia. You just don't do that to the Mafia and get away with it. I don't know what part Hoover played in this. I know Hoover hated the Kennedys and he might have been involved. Also JFK was involved with Mob boss, Giancana's girlfriend. Much more to the story but Oswald was killed almost after the arrest by Jack Ruby, another man Mob figure. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Informative, interesting in parts, but never truly engaging. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member It contains a few interesting points that should in fact carry significant weight into any JFK Assassination debate... but the documentary showcases these points in a VERY drawn out manor that can't help but leave you bored and wanting more. Not that the length of a documentary should be directly proportional to the sum of the points being made... but it should be somewhat proportional. Instead we're left with the points made in the first 10 minutes being drawn out over the entire duration of the film. Hence you can't help but leave thinking "That's it?". Whereas if the documentary was only 20-30minutes, those points would carry much more weight/significance (imho). Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member As a big fan of Oliver Stone's JFK (one of my top 10 of all time in fact) as well as the conspiracy theories around the assassination itself (although for the record, I'm in the lonely nut camp) this documentary's subject matter is already right up my Dealey Plaza with its look into the details surrounding Lee Harvey Oswald's life. Unfortunately, despite the interesting topic the documentary is per functionary at best with some of the dramatic recreations being dubious and poorly acted - I especially don't really see the point in a reconstruction of Oswald writing in his diary with an actor's voiceover. There's plenty of archive footage and interesting interviews with its look at the Cuban missile crisis and asking questions on whether he could have been sent on a false defector mission. Also it asks why his return from the Soviet Union was not investigated and was his wife part of the puzzle but as someone in the church of the lone gunmen it seems mostly bluster and theory with a few rumours thrown in for good measure. If nothing else, one of the things the documentary highlights is how accurate a performance Gary Oldman gave of Lee Harvey Oswald in Stone's drama, especially his vocal ticks and accent. In summary, there isn't really anything new in the ideas debated here just the usual conspiracy theories and questions that have been covered by JFK and other docs like 3 Shots That Changed America or 24 Hours After 6/10 Midlands Movies Mike Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
