jeff l Rubbish. A feeble "reimagining", totally derivative, anachronistic, wooden acting. Poverty-stricken in the imagination department, a Merlin shamelessly imitating Gandalf without the air of authority or credible power. There's an hour and a half off my life that I won't be getting back. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Poor character development, a clunky script, and mediocre acting… Uninteresting, and hollow Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member The story, is about when King Arthur dies, in the beginning. Killed by his son Mordred, who wickedly betrays him. Arthur manages to stab Mordred in the gut but Mordred lives and King Arthur dies. So before King Arthur dies he throws Excalibur into the Lake of Avalon. We next see Owain, who is in trouble with his friend for stealing money. When Owain is locked up he meets Sir Bedivere, who informs him that King Arthur was his farther. Owain is sentenced to death and is killed, suspected dead, Owain is thrown in the lake of Avalon. In his death Owain see's Merlin who informs him who he really is, Owain then wakes up on the shore of the lake. Excalibur is planted in the ground next to him. A peasant man comes along and tries to lift it but fails. Owain gets up and manages to lift it up likes it's nothing, and it shots a lightning bolt into the sky. Mordred and his mother, Morganna, find out of Owain and that he has the Excalibur. They used a women to get the sword from Owain, they did this by trapping her sister. Mordred then had Excalibur and killed the women's sister anyway. The women, Ada, and Owain were then sought out by Merlin, who gave his staff to Ada. Owain and Ada went to confront Mordred and Morganna. Ada defeated Morganna with Merlin's staff, and Owain had a fight with Mordred. During the fight Excalibur got stuck in a rock and Mordred is unable to pull it out. Owain, then manages to grab the sword and it comes out easily and he kills Mordred with it. Owain then goes on to become king. In my opinion the film is a bit poorly made, it didn't come across very accurate. The film uses the older ways to say the names, which can make it confusing to what we know today. The film could definitely have had more fighting in it, especially battles as it only had a small battle at the beginning, could have used armies. Mordred normally has an army in other renditions or stories that would have protected him and would result in a battle. It was too easy for Owain just to wonder round and find Mordred easily in his castle, not even any bobby traps. Even the castle was run down and didn't have a roof, it should have been functional castle. Overall, I would give the film 0.5 out of 10. Could have been a lot better. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Do yourself a favour and skip this. 2017....more like 1990! This movie was so low budget, so badly acted, so badly conceived with a story that doesn't hold up even with duct tape, that makes it a big, hot mess. I couldn't help laughing every time there a scene that was even remotely climatic. I was surprised this movie wasn't made by a bunch of college students on a history assignement. Skip. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought it was excellent. Never seen my wife hooked to the screen in a long time, like she was for this one. Really underrated movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member I've seen better production values in porn, and not very good porn at that! Total crap film!
