Not sure about all the hate on this film. Yes, the actors swear too much, and it's unnecessary. But cockney villains DO swear a lot (as my east-end wife would testify). You get the feeling that the actors all enjoyed playing their parts - perhaps more than the audience did getting to watching it. It's certainly not great. It didn't really test the brain too much. But for a couple of hours of harmless fun, closely based on a true story I thought it was OK.

What's not to like? A great cast, reflecting the true story of an old, "gang who couldn't shoot straight", jewel heist, that disintegrates into chaos. I could watch Caine and crew work all day long. Beats hell out of what passes for most "modern" crime flix. Good stuff. Makes me want to go back and watch the original *1968*, 'The Italian Job'. :'D
