Logan D Turning humans to stone, the Medusa virus is destroying humanity. The Japanese government preserves a number of carefully selected patients for cryo-sleep in hopes a cure can be found in the future. They wake up early to find their world overgrown within thorny vines and populated by monsters. I can imagine the author sitting while viewing Aliens and then casually looking at the bookshelf to see Sleeping Beauty. Inspiration! Fairly standard plot but I enjoyed the animation and the action sequences. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review Hayden F A strange mashup of Alien and Sleeping Beauty. It shouldn't work - but it does. The plot is fairly basic. But for the most part is quite gripping till the near the end. The ending is a little confused and strange, and doesn't feel like it is apart of the same film. But overall it is a fun time and I recommend it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/05/23 Full Review peter m This is a good adventure mystery movie. The plot progresses well, the characters are interesting and the conclusion, while unusual, is acceptable. While I would not class this as a classic or a movie you can re-watch, its certainly worth a single viewing. It deals with adult themes, so its no Disney movie, so children may find it a bit scary. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member If you read the manga, do not see this movie. It was so incredibly different from the books that it may as well have been a completely separate entity all together. If you have not read the manga, I imagine it actually isn't terrible. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A great start that goes from intense and horrifying to yet another ridiculous anime style story. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Like a lot of anime, this starts out very well and is wholly compelling for the first half, then it gets verrryy complicated with random dreamlike flashbacks that explain very little. I always end up feeling a bit dumb because when these films get to that point I just lose touch with the story and end up not understanding what the *bleep* just happened. So, great to a point but ultimately confusing and unsatisfying. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
