David Ansen Newsweek For a movie so frank and explicit, Kinsey has a soft spirit...Kinsey is a celebration of diversity; it's about the solace knowledge can bring. Mar 13, 2018 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Great movie, but not for kids. Rated: 4/5 Dec 24, 2010 Full Review Stella Papamichael BBC.com He's a terribly flawed man but instead of soapy histrionics, Condon underlines the tragedy with outrageous humour. Rated: 4/5 Jan 7, 2008 Full Review Jack Hawkins HeyUGuys Historical films should serve to reanimate the past with honesty, insight and a certain degree of entertainment,Bill Condon's Kinsey is a preeminent example of this, and it also has the uncommon distinction of real, unadulterated accuracy. Rated: 5/5 Jan 13, 2021 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com With honesty, frankness and explicit authenticity Kinsey becomes one of 2004's best pictures. Tom F A useful look at the subject in a Wikipedia entry sort of way and a reminder that attempts to validate anything other than purely binary relationships will always make people uncomfortable. Otherwise, not particularly interesting. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/06/24 Full Review PridePosterStudios “Everybody’s sin is nobody’s sin” Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/10/24 Full Review Chey G Knowing more of his research this autobiography is fraudulent just like his studies and is gross Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/26/23 Full Review kyal b Purposefully lies about the man and his research to make him out to be some sort of hero. No mention of the pedophiles he employed or his sadomachism towards himself and especially children. The real Kinsey was a disgusting human being who favored perversion and child molestation over basic humanity and values Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Very interesting film and, in some ways, contextualised even today, with attempts to clear the taboos present in every era. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review dave s Most viewers watching Kinsey will already be aware of Alfred Kinsey's role in research as it relates to human sexuality. However, the controversy surrounding the work he did often overshadowed Kinsey's humanity and the methods he employed when conducting his studies. Bill Condon's film helps to fill in the blanks, showing Kinsey (Liam Neeson) to be a compassionate, loving and methodical man who, despite his considerable attributes, at times suffered from self-doubt and insecurity. Kinsey, the film, is fearless in its tenacity when dealing with sensitive material and the viewing experiencing is riveting from beginning to end thanks to an intelligent script and strong performances from a fantastic cast.
