Amanda F Feb 20 This movie is… odd. Comedy: I only chuckled a couple times and never outright laughed. However, the nurse character is fantastically portrayed and makes you love her at every interaction. Drama: The movie had 5 different simultaneous dramatic plots that all sort-of tied into the main comedic (I use that term loosely) theme. All but one of the actors did a good job, some even did great! Had this been a drama instead of a comedy, I likely would rate it higher. There were a few incredible scenes centered around interpersonal conflicts and the actors conveyed the emotional impacts really well. Writing: mediocre and disjointed, though it did do a great job of exploring real-life issues and creating believable adversaries. Cats: This is where the movie gets weird, and not in a good way. Some of the characters start exhibiting cat-like behaviors in a way that’s supposed to be funny but just ends up being uncomfortable. The rationale behind the main movie plot, the clinical trial, is dicey and very much reeks of “so the movie could happen”. I will say, however, the scene with the kittens is really cute.
