Ricky W Wasn't great acting by anymeans but I enjoyed the creature and kill seens made it worth watching to me I thought it was fun watch but not one I would watch several times Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/24 Full Review Tony L I think i liked it when i was a kid Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/05/24 Full Review matthias s "Carved: The Slit-Mouthed Woman" is your typical Japanese horror flick, weaving an urban legend into a full-length feature. While it boasts a decent premise and some commendable acting, it falls short on delivering spine-tingling scares. The film stretches its 90-minute runtime, often feeling like a slow crawl through the narrative. What's more, it takes a disturbing turn by tackling the sensitive topic of domestic violence against children, which might make some viewers uncomfortable. This choice may have been intended to add depth to the story, but it somewhat muddles the overall horror experience. In the end, "Carved" ends up being a rather average film. It doesn't quite deliver the hair-raising chills you'd expect from a horror flick, leaving you wanting more in terms of thrills and genuine scares. If you're a die-hard fan of Japanese horror, it might be worth a watch, but don't expect it to haunt your nightmares. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/18/23 Full Review MasaHiro X Definitely a reimagined version of the Kuchisake Onna urban legend, this overwhelming darkness is felt throughout the film. This film for me was horrifying, more horrific than any american slasher or modern classic could ever do. Whilst the story is very drawn out and you notice patterns, especially similar to other J-Horror films, there's an almost ghostly unnatural presence to the Kuchisake Onna that any other urban legend has provoked me to feel. Reminder is not to go into this for the story because it is a repeated beat common in a few other horror films, go into this expecting a ghostly serial killer who kidnaps children and brutally disfigures them. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review andy h It's got tropes galore, but it's worth watching to see the characters unfold in development and the finale see satisfaction.
