Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Fails to come up with an impactful payoff and therefore some of the good things it does in building tension gets wasted. Rated: B+ Mar 1, 2013 Full Review James Plath Movie Metropolis Servillo carries the film with his very capable performance, and the cinematography and scenery make it visually interesting. If only the ending packed a little more punch. Rated: 7/10 Jul 12, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

luca d a good italian thriller movie Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/05/23 Full Review james g An interesting 'who-did-it' because, all in all, this film is about a group of troubled people. A Beautiful movie to watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It seems like a medium level episode of Derrick. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I started watching this today and quickly realized that I'd watched it a few years ago and forgotten. This wasn't encouraging, but I stuck with it and realized that I'd completely misread it. I checked the lonely 3 reviews linked to on RT and discovered that I wasn't the only one. The consensus was that it was well acted and well filmed (true) but that the resolution of the mystery was underwhelming (also true, but irrelevant). They, as I, had missed the subtext which is that people who love each other can cause more harm than good by trying to protect the other by withholding unpleasant truths. There was a lot of this going on but I was too focused on the mystery. Silly, really, because I don't even do procedurals because of the mysteries but because they're such an effective way of looking at human life. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member An Entertaining Enough Film Focused Upon Your Bog-Standard Murder Mystery. The Scenery Is Refreshingly Italy With The Alps Etc, But The Story Does Plod Along In Parts, Becoming Boring. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty boring, and the inspector was a rather unlikeable liar.
