Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times The French are funny. Sex is funny. And comedies are funny. Yet no French sex comedies are funny. Kévin B A great French comedy, with a young Depardieu doing more his part. This film by Veber participates to his legacy as a promising and talented comedic screenwriter of French Cinema. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/24 Full Review Mike C Meilleur comédie Française, je ne peut qu'aimer le duo Gérard Depardieu-Pierre Richard Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/24 Full Review Cinephemeride a great French comedy. The duo Pierre Richard / Gérard Depardieu works wonderfully and the whole thing is irresistible Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/17/23 Full Review william k A deliberately silly premise delivers the basis for a slightly entertaining slapstick comedy, Depardieu and Richard make it work. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a very unique comedy. It has everything and then some: well-acted and charismatic characters, melodrama, shootings, fights and much more. It's something that only the French are capable of pulling off, as indicated by the feeble attempt to remake it (I think it was titled Pure Luck in the US and it was an absolute disaster). Anyway, go and watch it, it's a non-stop laugh. Watch it in French with subtitles if you have to, but the dubbed version is not as good. Oh, and don't read Roger Ebert's review, he is completely off base on this one. This is not a sex comedy. Period.
