Audience Member More inspired pseudo-documentary absurdity from Jacopetti and Prosperi. The social commentary is certainly very much of its era, but the tongue-in-cheek atmosphere makes it clear that this film is far more interested in exhibiting kitschy weirdness than social conventions, and it does so with enthusiasm and style. Maybe not among the very best of the mondo genre, but a lot of fun for those who appreciate it, in large part again to a great score by Riz Ortolani. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Cultures : an isolated way of life for us all to conform... Any form exist Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A documentary film about the differing roles of women in different classes and races around the world. It does suffer from too many "shocking" unsubstantiated claims and dramatized scenes. These education shock pics were popular in this period with such films as Mondo Cane, Africa Addio, and Savage Man Savage Beast (whose predecessors were exploitation flicks such as Marihuana and Maniac and successors were Faces of Death and the like). Israeli soldiers, Tahitian dancers, Chinese sunbathers (who cover head to toe so as to not turn "yellow"!), African food gatherers, etc - it was a great cross section of the world, but I do have doubts about the accuracy of some of the film's claims. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member mixed bag of footage from around the world, some (but not all) of which is eminently watchable; however, it is certainly not as cohesive a film as it might have been - one for the Jacopetti completists amongst us Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member warped and funny as shit. like some absurd retarded essay film. i'm glad i saw this Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a bit boring. Why the hell am I the only person to ever review this? Oh jeez. I guess it's not good if the most recent opinion is a mediocre one. It's just outtakes from Mondo Cane. Call it Mondo Cane 1.5. I mean, it's interesting stuff some of the time, but it focuses on one subject only, and I'd have preferred to see random stuff again. Mondo Cane 2, here we come.
