It scrolls past thoughtful ideas, too quickly to fully process them, and the experience is as cacophonous as the typical social media feed. I’ll grant you it’s thematically appropriate but it’s not cohesive filmmaking. Go to Full Review

Kawamori’s first original feature has an intriguing idea and even a strong starting point. Somewhere along the way, though, it seems the film hit a dead end in its own ridiculously constructed maze and can’t find its way out. Go to Full Review

Labyrinth (2026) lacks a compelling plot and is further weakened by an unsympathetic protagonist and uninspired animation. Go to Full Review

Labyrinth is an artistically ambitious animated film about a teenage girl who gets trapped in her smartphone. However, the plot gets too tangled when making statements about people's self-esteem being affected by social media. Go to Full Review

What I took away from the film was how children really shouldn't be given cell phones. Go to Full Review

kabii-sama 1d Visuals were fantastic and vibes/music were pretty fun... but the story, while good in premise, went at a lightning pace, explaining some things abruptly in exposition dumps, yet not really building up to or explaining other things well. Makes me wonder if it'd have been better as a shorter maybe 6 episode anime. See more Olga S 1d Animation is great, plot is very tangled with too many characters and similar-sounding names (at least to my non-Japanese ear :( ). So I got confused somewhere in the middle finding it all a bit chaotic and thus protracted. The main message was however crystal-clear to me: don't give the smartphones to our poor overwhelmed teenage children during their coming of age, or they will get utterly frustrated and almost driven insane by them :)) . See more Ben K 2d It was supposed to be in dub but it was in sub I didn’t want to read the movie i wanted to watch it See more jesse v 2d A mix of Needy Streamer Overload and Paper Mario sticker star and some other anime and some spice of Paprika is an interesting blend for an anime. but this movie feels like a string of episodes stitched together and the story moves slowly due to the romantic c-plot and emotional well-being of the characters. The script keeps swerving to different lanes while ignoring real time. See more Becca Activator 2d Labyrinth was a film I found out about through the English dub trailer being in my YouTube feed, and I’m happy to say it beat my expectations. I went into this with the impression it would be good, but it was even better. The animation was amazing, beautiful, and creative. It goes crazy in the third act! The music was abstract, and beautiful, depending on the song. The dub was great too. My main issues are with how sudden the film ends, and some plot lines that went wrapped up completely. I don’t feel it’s something that leaves the door open for a sequel, but I suppose anything is possible. I spotted references for Godzilla, Gundam, Voltron, and Sailor Moon just in the same scene alone. Besides that, so many references to count. The plot also kept me interested the entire time, which is amazing. I wish I could watch it again soon, but since it’s a very limited release, I guess I’ll have to wait until it’s on digital. My overall score for Labyrinth is a 9/10. See more K R 3d 2.5 stars. This movie felt too long and like the director was trying to do too much with too little to hold on to. The animation was decent but the story line was convoluted and lackluster. Honestly think the story would have been much better if they did away with one of the characters completely: Suguru. His "evil" plan to make everyone in the world their 'ideal' selves was overwhelmingly cartoonish and tropey and only made the story more confusing and disappointing. It would have been better if they explored more about the sticker world, the sticker guide, Komori, and how people in that world became stickers. Overall not a film I would watch again but an okay film to watch once if you go in with absolutely zero expectations. See more Read all reviews
