Stephen Silver Living Life Fearless The film shows the same mastery of archival material that Questlove brought to Summer of Soul, including a great opening that’s already gone viral on social media. Jan 31, 2025 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider Ladies & Gentlemen…50 Years of SNL Music is wonderful look back at so many of the artists who have graced the stage at Studio 8H. Jan 29, 2025 Full Review Alex Maidy JoBlo's Movie Network It feels out of place with limited running time, but I enjoyed watching this quite a bit. Worth watching for fans of SNL and music aficionados in general. Rated: 8/10 Jan 24, 2025 Full Review Christopher Campbell Nonfics It might be the most cinematic TV special of its kind ever made. Phillip D Loved it. If you like the show or not, they did a great job on this special. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/25 Full Review Birithivy Y Ladies & Gentlemen…50 Years Of SNL Music - 9/10. As a casual fan of Saturday Night Live, this doc was a nice and cool nostalgic watch. There’s a lot of history with the show, and the great thing about this doc is that a lot of people have given interviews and insight into how music and SNL go hand in hand. There’s the past, the present, and the possible future here. We see the musical guests in out takes, dress rehearsals, and just in their natural element here. Its cool to see never before seen footage which shows how the show gets made and what makes it such an iconic franchise for many. You also kinda forget how much of these musicians got to show sides of themselves that they never ever get to show on a regular basis. But the one negative I had about this was the obvious glossing over of some of the controversies with the show and its musical guests. Some of these controversies are touched upon here, but I feel like they played it safe at times. Also, this felt a little too self important at times. I get SNL was and is important in comedy to an extent, but the way they talk about the show here at times feels a little too gloating. Outside of that, this is strictly a treasure chest of SNL glory and also a fun walk down memory lane with the show! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/25 Full Review Read all reviews
