nick s If you expect to see a risque drama about a badass chick... wrong turn. Dot is as sappy as a soap commercial from the same era. The production wasn't half bad, with fairly good camera work and acting. Bit talky. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review william k Routine, but straight and swift crime drama is all well done and quite entertaining. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A great reminder of the times seventy plus years ago. I grew up with these movies. Despite the - we always have to have a man to help us out-I thought this movie was swell. If you have nothing better to do, take a look at a bit of history of how movies were made way back then. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting on the close up on the lips and focus on the face of the lip reader. It was one of the first films that I have seen an old version of a female prison showing how was sort of pleasures were available to female prisoners or there cloths. I found that aspect enlightening. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A very interesting plot about an actress becoming a gangster, but the movie itself isn't that good. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member The short run time keeps the pace clipping in this gangster picture that provides a simple premise but some layers of intrigue along with and a truly great climatic fight scene that really was a pleasant surprise. Jackie Gleason makes one of first film appearances. This was a throw in on a disc with the film I rented, "They Made Me a Criminal", and I found it far superior.
