It takes a particular kind of daredevil to break the sound barrier on the ground, and Michael Sanger (Billy Zane) might be the one. With the help of the engineers on his team, Sanger has a rocket-propelled vehicle at his disposal, and all he needs is an opportunity to crank it up and blast himself free from the pack. But, as it turns out, Sanger is nowhere near the only person looking to prove his need for speed, thanks to a $50 million prize for whoever is the first to break Mach 2 on land.

This demonstrated that this was riffing off the Fast and the Furious franchise, only the difference between this film , is that they attempt to touch into the science fiction genre, which was very pathetic on their part. The editing was too rigid, and the plot of the story meandered on too many times. In the end, this film was a career-ender for Billy Zane, as far as to return to the silver screen anytime soon.
