James B good movie very slow michael pitts performance of kurt cobain is great really artsy film not for everyone. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/22/23 Full Review Naomi M A lot of mumbling and wide shots and quiet suffering. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/14/22 Full Review Audience Member Holy ghost! What have I watched? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Liked it a lot. Quiet, thoughtful, melancholic. Hard to watch but draws you in. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review kevin c I've watched this probably four times now and each time I think maybe I'll like it better the next time. So far that hasn't happened. Fictional film inspired by the last days of Kurt Cobain. Art house flick from Gus Van Sant is neither interesting or engaging. Michael Pitt seems to embody the lead tragic character of ‘Blake' well and it does have a cameo from Asia Argento, whom I enjoy, but overall watching this was a chore. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a complete waste of time. It's like a film students project showing over an hour of just establishing shots. These shots establish nothing, and lead into more establishing shots. The shot of the window, for what felt like days, was brutal. Seriously, don't waste the time, it really really is that bad. David Ansen Newsweek Van Sant brings a lyricism, a dreamy sensibility that infuses his detachment with sympathy. Last Days, which is informed by the suicide of Kurt Cobain, is a hauntingly beautiful tone poem. Mar 14, 2018 Full Review Chris Chang Film Comment Magazine Last Days is a strange creature: it's an extremely abbreviated biopic with zero details, a tribute to a man and his music without a trace of his songs, a tragedy without an arc, etc. It's also dynamite artistry. Nov 19, 2013 Full Review Rene Rodriguez Miami Herald Van Sant's refusal to delve into his subject in anything but an abstract way renders the movie pointless and frustrating -- a lyrical, lovely tone poem, signifying little. Rated: 2/4 Sep 9, 2005 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Pitt's performance is a quiet performance. Rated: 3.5/4.0 Sep 13, 2020 Full Review Kaleem Aftab The List The strength of Last Days is found in the nihilistic performance of Pitt. Rated: 3/5 Apr 26, 2019 Full Review David Keyes Cinemaphile.org A tremendously sad and unsettling film. Rated: 3.5/4 Jun 10, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
