Carla Meyer San Francisco Chronicle Renders its gay and religious characters so stereotypical that neither lifestyle appears attractive. Rated: 1/4 Apr 2, 2004 Full Review Tom Long Detroit News A coming-of-age, coming-out, romantic comedy, religious intolerance flick, and if that sounds a bit crowded, that's because it is. Rated: C- Apr 2, 2004 Full Review Steven Rea Philadelphia Inquirer A fairly flat, predictable tale. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 2, 2004 Full Review Amanda Jane Stern Film Inquiry It's not a bad movie, but it's also not great. Alexander O As with many films in this genre, the pretty actors (and lack of talent) limit the story's success. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/04/24 Full Review Anthony N Amazing film .. I know its farfetched however coming from being with a mormon background I can see how allot of the things that happens in the film could actually have happened in numerous people's life's.. i left the church because of my sexuality however i have respect for the faith but will not go back in as I am free to be myself now and if that makes me go to hell or outer darkness then so be it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/17/24 Full Review Corey J Absolute ass. Horrible writing, horrible acting. It was a fun watch though. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/21/23 Full Review Linden P I first saw the film several years ago and rewatched it this weekend. LATTER DAYS is a bit contradictory, to be honest, because while I don't think it holds up that well (in terms of the acting, pacing, story, etc.), I finished my rewatch thinking it may be a more important film today than it gets credit for. It's hard to understate how groundbreaking this film was at the time. It provided onscreen representation and voice to several underrepresented segments and their experiences in society. By today's standards, the romance feels Lifetime movie-esque, but at the times, it was unheard of for a movie like this to be so successful on a number of fronts, and just because a Lifetime movie is a bit sappy or predictable doesn't mean it's not enjoyable, and that's true of the romantic tropes here, for sure. I recommend this film to anyone interested in gay cinema, independent cinema, and the evolutionary journey and intersection of both. It's very interesting when viewed through that lens. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review ROB S Good movie....acting is ok, some actors better than others, but the scene towards the end at Lila's always melts my heart.... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/23/23 Full Review PridePosterStudios Every time a jock swings, a Mormon gets his wings Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Read all reviews
