Audience Member I like Gendarme series so much. This movie is also very entertaining, also a big plus that it took place in NYC. Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member An improvement over the 1964 original, "Le gendarme à New York" is not only funnier but demonstrates a spark that was largely missing before. Granted, the frenzy in which a lot of the incidents (including the climax) go down conceals the fact that, were cooler heads to prevail, at least some of the mayhem would have been avoidable, but believability might be besides the point here. Girault and Vilfrid are stretching their legs in a different, more spacious screenwriting setting. Ca commence plutôt bien, c'est assez drôle, et puis ça devient long, et chiant, et répétitif, et pas drôle du tout... Autant regarder un bon volet des Gendarmes à la place.
