Sarah Vincent Sarah G Vincent Views While unflinching in its portrait of a mother and son with physical and mental limitations and no resources trying to manage each other’s health problems, it veers towards a happy ending that dismisses everything that came before Sep 8, 2025 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Leaving Mom can get a little overstuffed with its two major storylines about caregiving for a parent with dementia and looking for a long-lost family member. However, this drama has very good performances, even if some of the scenes veer into triteness. Aug 30, 2025 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse While “Leaving Mom” has minor issues, the emotional weight, social commentary, strong performances, and dual settings make it a movie worth watching. Fans of melodrama are likely to find it particularly compelling. Rated: 6.5 Aug 24, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

I cried the whole movie and my parents loved it as well! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/07/25 Full Review Yen Love this! Look forward to more Viet Korean movies in the future. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/04/25 Full Review MT Beautiful, heart wrenching. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/02/25 Full Review Diem Great emotional story about the struggles of being a young caretaker for a parent. Hoan (played by Tuan Tran) goes through extreme lengths to protect and care for his mom (played by Hoag Dao). Some of his actions would be seen as elderly abuse by outsiders. However, it highlights the lack of financial assistance and support for adult children who cannot afford help for their deteriorating parents. This movie has no lack of tear-jerker moments and suspense. Some scenes do come off less impactful due to the repetitive music score though. Despite this, the story is still beautiful and worth the watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/01/25 Full Review Ryan G Quite the whiplash, but great movie! If art is supposed to make you feel, then get ready to cry and laugh. Great movie!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/31/25 Full Review Read all reviews
