Director Lee Cronin's take on The Mummy injects some juicy gore and personal stakes into the classic horror setup, but the scares in this gross-out extravaganza get entombed by a padded running time.

We would have liked more clarity in a story that reveals several narrative gaps, that doesn't have a satisfactory ending, and that sometimes deviates too recklessly from what one might expect from a film like this to delve into. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Feeling like a creepy, gross update of "The Exorcist" complete with black vomit, this mummy could have stayed entombed just a little bit longer for my palate.  Go to Full Review

I was dragged along by the vacillation between the chilling horror and the detective story. My confusion compounded because I wanted to feel tension and empathy, but I couldn’t stick with the characters enough to appreciate their journey. Go to Full Review

After watching this oozing mess of jumbled horror tropes, I have no earthly idea why some big names in horror — including producers James Wan and Jason Blum — took a flyer on [Lee Cronin]. Go to Full Review

Joshua 23h The body who I wasn’t in love with, I didn’t do my research and assumed it was related to the popular Mommy, it’s essentially the exorcist storyline See more Josh 1d Good movie if you watch it as its own horror/thriller film. Bad movie if you watch it expecting to see a “Mummy” film. See more Faithovdoom May 23 Definitely disturbing as a horror film should be! Creative concepts were used here and it did not follow suit with the old school Mummy vibe. It has more of a true crime meets new school evil dead scenario about it. Very twisted and the end is surprisingly satisfying. See more Meghan May 22 Well done and creepy! See more Josie May 22 Lots of action though out movie See more JessM May 17 Well that was somethin’…. The Mummy meets the Conjuring, mixed with the Exorcist and Terrifier, sprinkled with the Evil Dead I felt it was a lot of everything thrown into one pot, BUT it all mostly worked A little too much in the middle (GORE galore) but the ending was good. This movie stays with you a bit when you leave. I hadn’t seen a movie I couldn’t predict with all the crazy twists and turns like this in a while. It did its job and an ultimate horror movie See more Read all reviews
