Chris M I got to admit that it starts off a little rough. When Red Bean was about 3 or 4 Hung has him choose a warrior's path or a peaceful path. After he chose the warrior life Hung implied he would have killed him if he choose the life of peace. Made it hard to root for him for awhile. But Red Bean is the best part of the movie. He is so cool and for a boy about 10 at the oldest he is an excellent martial artist. Overall, it's not boring by any means, great fight and even Hung redeems himself for that one scene. A must see for Jet Li fans. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Review: I quite enjoyed this movie, mainly because of the little Shaolin boys and there great martial art techniques. After Jet Li finds his village completely destroyed, he goes on a quest with his son to the find the killers. Its quite a basic storyline but it's easy to loose the plot. I liked the old lady in the movie but I didn't get the pizza looking guy who looked like he had bits of kebab all over his face. The film seemed cheaply made and some of the jokes weren't that funny but the kids were great and fun to watch. Average! Round-Up: Although this movie was made in 1994, it seemed very dated and the camera work was shoddy. That's not a total bad thing because some of the greatest Kung Fu movies were made in the 70's, but this movie should have looked better for that period. With that aside, you can't help enjoying the kiddie monks, especially when there battling each other. It won't go down as an all time classic, but it's a watchable Kung Fu movie which is authentic and amusing in parts. I recommend this movie to people who are into their Jet Li movies about a man who travels with his son to find out who destroy,ed his village and brutally killed his wife. 4/10 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Legend Of The Red Dragon is a hammy and utterly ludicrous martial arts film...but it sure is an entertaining B-movie. Sure, it's not nearly up to snuff compared to some other films in Jet Li's filmography like, say, Hero, but it's still a really good time for anyone who loves an over the top action film. The plot is fairly simple: A man and his son are out for revenge against the government officials who killed his wife and fellow villagers. Now the duo travels the country until they are hired as bodyguards for a man who is about to get married to a con woman. There's also an aspect of the plot involving Shaolin students who have treasure maps tattooed to their backs and now the government is after them as well. So, the film becomes a whirlwind of revenge, romance, friendship, and lots of ass whooping. The film cannot in any way be taken seriously, even during moments that are supposed to be dramatic. However, the film is very energetic and lively, and is surprisingly bolstered in entertainment value because of the hilariously awful English dubbing. It's pure camp value from start to finish, both intentionally and unintentionally. If you're a person who enjoys a fun, cheesy action film, this one will meet your needs and is hardly ever boring. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice Jet Li movie, with good fight scenes and a few humorous moments as well. Great performance from the actor portraying his young son, but felt the evil character's look was extremely cheesy! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Small kids performing kung fu is ALWAYS a good thing. Jet Li is a bonus. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member This is my all time favorite kung fu movie. I was watching this as far as i could remember. I would give it 5 stars if the villain didn't suck. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
