      Critics Consensus

Lemmy offers fealty to its rock god subject with a consistently entertaining - if thoroughly uncritical - look at his incredible life and legacy.

Andy B Esentially two hours of hagiographic grovelling from a variety of famous talking heads. The scenes with Lemmy and his son are weirdly uncomfortable and the few and far between snapshots of a younger Lemmy suggest a more interesting but less flattering film could have been made here. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/12/23 Full Review james b Think I only know like 1 MOTORHEAD song (Ace of Spades) even so this Doc. is definitely worth seeing I enjoyed. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review paul s I love the hell out of this movie. I have long enjoyed hearing Lemmy speak over the years, and it was a blast watching this documentary. What a great way to honor the memory of this legend. I've seen this twice. I own the Blu Ray DVD and I'll certainly watch it again and again. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The greatest rock-doc of all time! Such a compelling story, even if you've never heard of Lemmy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Love it. J'ai connu sa musique de son vivant, mais pas assez et surtout pas assez connu ce personnage intéressant. Hamish Macbain Empire Magazine It is an inspiring film not because of the whole sticking-to-his-guns thing, but because of the purity of it. Rated: 4/5 May 25, 2021 Full Review Richard Kuipers Variety Crisply cut package shrewdly eschews the linear approach. Viewers are given a good look at Kilmister at home and on the road with Motorhead before segs covering his 45-year career are smoothly woven into the framework Feb 23, 2012 Full Review Liam Lacey Globe and Mail This parade of admiration is almost as exhausting as the experience of a Motrhead concert Feb 18, 2011 Full Review Molly Templeton Eugene Weekly (OR) Lemmy is a fascinating, slightly overlong, almost-warts-and-all documentary about Motörhead's bassist/lead singer. Feb 27, 2019 Full Review Melinda Newman Uproxx At times, the film smartly uses subtitles he is so hard to understand, but the whole movie could use them. However, these are small quibbles for a film that if you"re a longtime Lemmy fan, makes you feel great about having placed your faith in his hands. Oct 8, 2018 Full Review Michael Leader Den of Geek While the film delights in bringing insight into the man's more private moments, it successfully reveals him to also be tremendously popular, both as an influence and a friend.
