Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Light on details and depth. Jun 16, 2016 Full Review Andy Webster New York Times It savors observational subtleties, especially in Mr. Ifans's assured performance. For a baby-boomer-meets-millennial family drama, that's plenty. Jun 9, 2016 Full Review Guy Lodge Variety [Offers] a less-than-convincing glimpse into the modern-day pop factory. Jun 8, 2016 Full Review Amy Wolfe Willamette Week The funnier moments involve Len awkwardly interacting with society. Rated: B Jul 7, 2016 Full Review Andrea Chase Killer Movie Reviews [Ifans] is ridiculous, vicious, and sympathetic all at once. He can deliver a line that cuts like a knife, break your heart, or make you burst out laughing. Rated: 4/5 Jun 25, 2016 Full Review Jared Mobarak The Film Stage With a delicate touch of humanity, an abundance of humor, and the perfect pinch of dramatic gravitas, the film proves more than its conventional story presumes. Audience Member This movie made me laugh. I can see Mr. Ifans as a burned out, frustrated musician in this film. (I hope not in real life.) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Stewart E No tension No twists No character development No reveal You don't learn anything about these one dimensional characters. Len, a cranky guy who isn't too bad His son who has no problems and is nice Zoe a pop star who is a little sad but not too much. Len is a cliche of what a (I'm assuming) young writer thinks an aging rock star should be like. You follow them for a few days while nothing happens. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/18/21 Full Review Audience Member Very meh bland movie . I did not dislike though . 2.9 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/04/20 Full Review Audience Member I found myself liking the movie mainly on the strength of Rhys Ifans' performance. B- Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Familiar plot but who cares - uncaring Father wonderfully portrayed by Rhys Ifan - Val Killmer's kid Jack subtly terrific - PVs terrific. Would happily watch it a coupla times more. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
