T'Cha Dunlevy Montreal Gazette In other words, lots of tomfoolery. Which makes for decent family-friendly fun, but won't inspire any grand revelations about the meaning of life, or make for many fascinating tales about how you spent your own summer vacation. Claudio C Les vacances du petit Nicolas / Nicholas on Holiday (2014) Entertaining Sequel, but Inferior to "Little Nicholas" (12,069 – 17 Nov 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) When summer vacation arrives, the father (Kad Merad) and the mother (Valérie Lemercier) of little Nicolas (Mathéo Boisselier) agree to go to the beach; however, the mother imposes to take grandmother (Dominique Lavanant) with them. They arrive at the Hotel Beau-Rivage and Nicolas befriends five boys on the beach. When his father meets an old schoolmate and his family in the restaurant of the hotel, Nicolas meets their daughter Isabelle (Erja Malatier). He overhears a conversation and believes the families want to marry them. This misunderstanding leads to several confusions. Meanwhile, father befriends the hot German tourist (Julie Engelbrecht) and an Italian director (Francis Perrin) falls for the mother. "Les vacances du petit Nicolas", a.k.a. "Nicholas on Holiday" (2014) is an entertaining sequel, but Inferior to "Little Nicholas" (2009). First, the boy Maxime Godart is replaced by Mathéo Boisselier since he was too old for the role. Then, Nicolas’ sister if forgotten and disappears from the story. There are many funny moments and scenes, but the magic of the first movie does not exist anymore. My vote is six. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Not a masterpiece. It wasn't designed to be one. Good comedy though. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member I cannot understand my eyes on these reviews, it was a great film in my opinion with lots of laughs. C'etait tres magnifique l'aventures de petit nicolas et ses copains! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member The prequel was way much better. Plus, the children actors in the last one were cuter too, & better acted. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Non Non , not realy great ...the parents of Nicolas were a bit funny but Nicolas and his friends more anoying then anything !
