Sonia Saraiya Variety And yet there are moments in Let It Fall that feel like a significant reframing of the riots, both in terms of what actually happened and in terms of who's really to blame. Apr 2, 2018 Full Review Michael Phillips Chicago Tribune [Let it Fall] accomplishes what straightforward nonfiction narrative can do in the best of circumstance. Sep 19, 2017 Full Review David Lewis San Francisco Chronicle What makes the astoundingly edited "Let It Fall" so powerful is that it's an oral history, told through many angles: residents, police officers, victims, families of the victims, witnesses, jurors and a host of others. Rated: 3.5/4.0 Sep 13, 2020 Full Review Andrea Thompson Cultured Vultures Let It Fall retains all of Ridley's best trademarks, serving as a deeply compassionate warning of the rage and violence that results from when division and misunderstanding are allowed to become entrenched, both in our institutions and in ourselves. Audience Member I remember seeing some of these horrible scenes as a child so it was captivating hearing so many of the people involved discussing these events from so many diverse points of view. Credit to the filmmaker for finding so many first person participants and weaving the historical footage with those interviews. 8.5/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This was a good documentary to watch . It's impossible to ignore the political environment in which it was made. Ultimately, this film is so one sided , that , by the end , it was becoming difficult not to take the side of police officers and peacemakers in general. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Another great piece of history. My buddy who is from LA drove through these riots to the airport and even pointed out the exact spot and roads he drove through. Overall another great history lesson. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie/documentary. Being that I was very young during the riots and unrest in LA, I never knew the extent of what happened. This film did an awesome job telling the story of the violence in LA between 1982-1992. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
