Detective Riggs (Mel Gibson) tries to settle down with his pregnant girlfriend, Lorna (Rene Russo), while his partner, Murtaugh (Danny Glover), comes to grips with the marriage of his pregnant daughter, Rianne (Traci Wolfe), to fellow cop Butters (Chris Rock). But they find themselves and their families targeted by Chinese mobsters, led by Wah Sing Ku (Jet Li). Riggs, Murtaugh, Butters and private eye Getz (Joe Pesci) decide to go on the offensive before the gangsters get to their loved ones.

This is my comfort saga, all four of them are the greatest buddy cop movies of all time, and in this one that sense of family in an action cop movie is heartwarming, that scene with Riggs and Leo in the graveyard… ufff makes my eyes watering. Love them all.

The 4th entry in the Lethal Weapon series is slightly better than the third film, but suffers compared to the first two. It's a lot more goofier, but the story is decent enough, but Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Joe Pecsi, and Rene Russo make things work with their great performances. Plus, that ending is perfect.

The film's running joke is justified, as Gibson and Glover are too old for this. The charm of their wild stunts and crazy banter wanes, leaving nothing but mindless action sequences and a vapid plotline to follow. Lethal Weapon 4 is the last entry in the series, for good reason.
