Audience Member la versión del superheroe en Venezuela, muy bien llevada a la pantalla...ahora la pregunta es...¿Cuando veremos una version azteca? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member A well intended yet not quite achieved Venezuelan film, it narrates the story of "Libertador" an ex policeman turned Taxi driver (in motorcycle, a common practice in Caracas due to heavy traffic); Libertador is named after the forefather of our land Simon Bolivar "El Libertador" (the liberator), bolivar fought and did possible the freedom of Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru (and still there are no good movies about his life). Anyway... Libertador lives in a parish of caracas that's terrified by crime. The corruption of the police officers is a common and expected thing and citizens just are limited to complain but accepting (as there is no other choice) their hard situation. Libertador in the other hand, is what i'd call a rebel of spirit, he believes in the people rights, in universal respect and in the homeland. He is a widower that lost his wife in a robbery, and now lives with his mother and his teenager son, who of course thinks he is a dumb for standing for ethic and values all the time, he also is in love with daisy a young (and also widow) secretary with a 6 years old son. After yet another robbery in the parish, Libertador decides, with the help of a homeless friend "Palo de Agua" to take justice in hand, and disguise in the night to stop the band of robbers that's been attacking the community (something a la don quixote). He makes enemies both in the crime scene and in the crooked police station, leading to his eventual imprisonment, but with the support of the community and some honest police officers, finally he his liberated. Yet another hard choice is to come for libertador, his son has joined the crime gang, will his principles stand over his feelings as a father? Overall, the movie it's not bad made, and even as the premise it's well intended and interesting enough, there are mostly some script issues that i think are principally related to the language not feeling Real life Caracas language, There are some stereotypes exaggeration also, and the acting is pretty much average. Yet is a very enjoyable film, that shamefully didn't got enough attention down here precisely because it's not filled with sex or violence cliches as there are most of the Venezuelan films, instead it has more of a comedy/adventure feel but with a message in hand.
