There is no shortage of films about the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, but there is a lack of good ones. The low-budget indie Liberty Kid, produced by downtown auteur Larry Fessenden, is one of those that succeeds.

Well acted, but the film is all build-up, and no conclusion. Ultimately, it is a story about nothing. I liked it, but then left feeling unsatisfied at the end, as if I'd wasted two hours of my life.

A wonderful indie film incorporating several different and important socio-political themes . Highly recommended, especially watching the extras: especially the extended footage of the actual war veterans and the behind the scenes footage.
