There aren't many surprises or shock revelations here, but some of the anecdotes are amusing, while Jones is charming, enthusiastic and honest about the ups and downs of his life after starring in one of cinema's defining cult favourites.

Overlong and haphazardly constructed documentary, but it's very clear that the 1980 Mike Hodges 'Flash Gordon' was a watershed for its troubled leading man, Sam Jones. Headstrong and argumentative, he fell foul of producer Dino di Laurentiis, and was effectively blacklisted by Hollywood. Even if you're not a particular fan of 'Flash Gordon', there are enough enjoyable nuggets here to make it worth a watch.
