It all rings true but the pace drags, and the pretentious placement of the annoying songs with the non-stop appearance of an ugly bunch of rockers is simply irritating. Go to Full Review

Strong performances from the core cast, a strong emotional thread and good cinematography make for an engaging film, though it's not groundbreaking cinema by any means. Go to Full Review

Kaushik K Apr 20 A must watch movie from Bollywood industry. It maybe not cinematic experience for many critics seeing such poor review; But this is what you call a movie...I was living with the characters. I was enjoying the songs which were "not unnecessary". See more 11/24/2018 A decade later, this iconic film appears just about average. Some of the leads have had more tumultuous lives than what is portrayed in here. The themes that were bold and novel have been developed far better in many movies that came later. One feels particularly peeved at a very 1980s-like rushed and convenient climax. See more 01/01/2018 To Anil, David and Jaspreet, Shut the F up. This movie should have been said, written, analysed and praised more than it originally got. The first movie to feature a band playing at major scenes, interleaving storyline with characters who represent metro routes that, despite differences in their life, somehow manage to intertwine and connect with each other spectacularly like tied knots. Not to mention the impressive performance of everyone (well, almost - Shiney's role was a bit short and got watered down like a true loser later on), What else could you ask for more? This whole movie plays as a metaphor that teaches you the value of life and love while demanding a clearer, fairer look for women in society - the true meaning of feminism that has been tainted nowadays thanks to millennials and mindless leftists. You guys disgust me with your so-called top critic's reviews. This movie is not for entertainment - it demands taking time to understand each character and investing thoughts and feeling. This is a movie that should have received more praises and attention. See more 06/12/2014 for Bollywood standard this movie was sooo good i just wish i havent seen "the apartment" before :) See more 10/27/2012 A charming movie about the LIFE IN A... METRO! See more 06/27/2012 Hands down the worst movie I have ever seen. I was completely speechless during the scene where the husband and wife reveal their affairs to one another. I have never seen such blatant chauvinism portrayed anywhere. This includes my experiences in junior high. It is ridiculous that this would happen in an official film. Porn is more respectful to women than this movie. See more Read all reviews
