Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Anurag Basu picks a superb ensemble cast to spin out a collage of little stories about people, love and lust, trust and betrayal, truth and lies. Jun 13, 2019 Full Review Anil Sinanan Time Out It all rings true but the pace drags, and the pretentious placement of the annoying songs with the non-stop appearance of an ugly bunch of rockers is simply irritating. Oct 24, 2017 Full Review Jaspreet Pandohar BBC.com Fails on an entertainment level. Rated: 2/5 May 11, 2007 Full Review David Edwards Daily Mirror (UK) Rubbish. Rated: 2/5 May 11, 2007 Full Review Poonam Joshi Film4 Strong performances from the core cast, a strong emotional thread and good cinematography make for an engaging film, though it's not groundbreaking cinema by any means. Audience Member A decade later, this iconic film appears just about average. Some of the leads have had more tumultuous lives than what is portrayed in here. The themes that were bold and novel have been developed far better in many movies that came later. One feels particularly peeved at a very 1980s-like rushed and convenient climax. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member To Anil, David and Jaspreet, Shut the F up. This movie should have been said, written, analysed and praised more than it originally got. The first movie to feature a band playing at major scenes, interleaving storyline with characters who represent metro routes that, despite differences in their life, somehow manage to intertwine and connect with each other spectacularly like tied knots. Not to mention the impressive performance of everyone (well, almost - Shiney's role was a bit short and got watered down like a true loser later on), What else could you ask for more? This whole movie plays as a metaphor that teaches you the value of life and love while demanding a clearer, fairer look for women in society - the true meaning of feminism that has been tainted nowadays thanks to millennials and mindless leftists. You guys disgust me with your so-called top critic's reviews. This movie is not for entertainment - it demands taking time to understand each character and investing thoughts and feeling. This is a movie that should have received more praises and attention. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member for Bollywood standard this movie was sooo good i just wish i havent seen "the apartment" before :) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A charming movie about the LIFE IN A... METRO! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Hands down the worst movie I have ever seen. I was completely speechless during the scene where the husband and wife reveal their affairs to one another. I have never seen such blatant chauvinism portrayed anywhere. This includes my experiences in junior high. It is ridiculous that this would happen in an official film. Porn is more respectful to women than this movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member copied from various sources (eg. sharman joshi's story from The Apartment), but overall worth a watch Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews
