Robert Daniels 812filmreviews Life Overtakes Me does indeed overtake us, reminding us of the perils refugees face, even when the guns cease to fire and the violence ends. Jun 15, 2019 Full Review Carey-Ann Pawsey Orca Sound As if being a parent wasn't tough enough then you watch this 40 minute film by directors John Harper and Kristine Samuelson and it gives parents one more thing to worry about. Rated: 3.5/5 May 3, 2020 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film There are a lot of unanswered questions. Wisely, the film doesn't attempt to answer them, simply setting out the facts as they are understood and inviting empathy. Rated: 4/5 Jan 28, 2020 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Life Overtakes Me is definitely a tough watch. But it's worthwhile to put it on just to be aware of the extreme stress refugee families - especially their children - go through in other parts of the world. Jun 21, 2019 Full Review Brenden Gallagher The Daily Dot Life Overtakes Me calls attention to an awful and easily preventable situation with calm and grace. It's hard to ask much more of a documentary. Rated: 4/5 Jun 12, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A compelling, thought maker, that has beautifully shot nature and city scenes, but besides that is so important and also is really one for thought. It might seem a bit one sided but I think it's trying to be more possibly, so that makes it work. Plus it's about a syndrome, one more people should know of. I can't really tell when it comes to the politics of it to be honest, the morals and the sides etc. but still a intriguing watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review jona i These facts are hard-to-watch. It plays well with pathos; and because of that, by the end, there are many unanswered questions as far refugees in Sweden and regulations concerning them. Had it been expanded to be feature length, those questions could be explored, though they would have to veer nearly off-topic of these children and their families to do so. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review andy h Depressing yet hopeful, life overtakes me provides insight into one outing many people either don't know about or deny is a real problem when, in reality, it most certainly is for someone with a heart and love for children. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Gripping documentary short about refugee children in Sweden with Resignation Syndrome. Heartbreaking.
