Melanie V Classic! This movie was a huge part of my childhood. Watching a strong, young, Hispanic, female lead was a big deal for me growing up. I watched it countless times. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/06/23 Full Review Audience Member In this Touchstone release, Michael J. Fox plays a former child actor who is now a talent agent. He comes across a ten year old girl who he thinks could make it as an actress, but she is more trouble than he bargained for. I felt the acting in this movie was very well done. Michael J. Fox, Nathan Lane, Cyndi Lauper and all the child actors did great! Kudos to Christina Vidal as Angie, she really sold her role. I feel the writing is the real problem with this movie. There were several scenes where I felt Michael J. Fox was having problems portraying his character and fell into being Michael J. Fox. I don't think it was his fault, just a few awkward lines. This leads me to flirt with the idea that he might have been mis-cast in this role. There were too many side characters in this movie that had nothing more to do than be in a scene for a gag. Some plot elements could have benefited from a set up scene earlier in the movie. Overall the story is a little dull and predictable. If you like Michael J. Fox as an actor or the premise sounds good, then check this movie out. Otherwise skip it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member This family comedy was pretty good. Michael J. Fox, Christina Vidal, Nathan Lane, Cindy Lauper, and the rest of the cast did a pretty good job in this movie. The plot to the movie was entertaining and dramatic. It's about giving someone a chance at a great opportunity and making a friend in the process. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. Don't listen to the bad reviews. They have bad tastes in movies. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review steve d A mixed bag but some fun will be had. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Life with Mikey (1993) I liked the performances and casting of the lead characters and most of the actors. I wish that I had gotten more invested in the Children’s actors besides just seeing their weakness in this film. I liked Michael J. Fox’s performance in this film. I also liked the main lead troublemaker. I wish that more of her family back story was developed better in the film to get the audience more invested. It has funny moments but also some parts are slap stick comedy. I found it interesting how Michael J. Fox character and Con artist Angie were similar in talented but in some ways Angie was more of an adult with her diet and keeping the home clean and Michael J. Fox Character was dirty, bad in love relationships and had a bad smoking and food diet. I liked how Mikey and Angie has almost this married couple relationship that was a love/hate relationship that was comedic and dramatic at the same time.
