What to Know

Critics Consensus

Lift may be a passable streaming option for viewers seeking mindless entertainment, but that doesn't excuse its thinly written characters or formulaic, haphazardly written story.

The secret to enjoying Lift is going in with low expectations -- but even then, there are plenty of better alternatives.

Robert Levin Newsday It's another disappointing action movie from Netflix, which has a very spotty record in this space. Rated: 2/4 Jan 31, 2024 Full Review Alonso Duralde Breakfast All Day It's a bore. Rated: 3.5/10 Jan 19, 2024 Full Review Dwight Brown DwightBrownInk.com Any film that begins with an elaborate, broad daylight heist deserves viewers' attention. It's what comes between that intro and the film's adrenalin-pumping final hour that may give Netflix audiences reasons to take a refrigerator break. Rated: 2.5/4 Jan 19, 2024 Full Review Ayla Ruby Loud and Clear Reviews Overall, Lift is a fun film with beautiful scenery, but you probably won’t get any frequent flyer miles or first-class upgrades out of any rewatches. Enjoy the smooth air and give the movie a try. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 20, 2024 Full Review Jackie K. Cooper jackiekcooper.com Kevin Hart plays it straight and it is a lot of fun. Rated: 6/10 Feb 18, 2024 Full Review Austin Burke Austin Burke/Flick Fan Nation Lift features a stacked cast, yet the script fails to make anyone memorable. Betty K First I determine what I enjoy, half of movies made in Hollywood that receive Oscar's are boring and I would never watch them. When I watch tv or a film I want to be entertaining, full of mystery, intrigue, comedy, drama. Critics have no idea what people enjoy watching. Their opinions mean absolutely zero, nothing, everyone has to decide for theirselves. Do not go by what others say when it comes to music, tv or a movie. You decide. How would you feel if someone said I do not like your team. If you didn't like this film you must have a very boring existence. Break away from the real world and enjoy being entertained. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/25 Full Review André R Genial, no puedo expresar más de esta película. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/10/25 Full Review Bjorn H Terrible movie. Do not recommend. Lost a part of my life I can never get back! Script is a shocker. Acting poor. And the "special effects" could have been done better by a toddler using a free app on his tablet. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/07/25 Full Review Malisa S I am a behavioral analyst. Most of Kevin Hart's fans love him enough to hate that his acting skills were being hidden behind the desire of everyone else to have the "funny guy," the guy that people want to laugh with or at but never seeing his serious side. His fans have been waiting for a combination of whit and seriousness that shows another angle. If you are a true sleuth/action/humor fan, your senses were activated from beginning to end. To Kevin Hart, this is one of the best choices for switching it up. Perfect! Five Stars. Many of the fans favorite actors or mine: Batalon, Reno, Mbatha-Raw, D'Onofrio Gorman. Added favorites are Magnussen, Proud, Corbero, and Kim. I am going to call it. Lift II, III, IV. Waiting for the next Trailer. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/30/24 Full Review T S terrible movie! The writers had no idea about aviation, The plot is complete garbage - even for Netflix’s low standard. What a waste of time. adding famous actors to a garbage plot, doesn’t make a good movie Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/30/24 Full Review Andrew M Predictable but entertaining, action and some 1 liners. If you are looking for deep emotional or in depth character building this isn’t for you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/16/24 Full Review Read all reviews
