Audience Member Loved it! Gives you more of a background and inside look into the Sea Shepherds fight against the Japanese whalers, than in 'Whale Wars.' Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a nice make-yourself-feel-better movie, gets you to think twice before eating Sushi next time, however, it has its dull moment when you just hope someone jumps off the boat or anything really. The movie is about a number of people with a crappy shit trying to save some whales from the almighty Japanese machine! Whether we know they will succeed or not, we do know that it is actually a noble cause and everyone should support it. I myself checked the Sea Shepherd website to see if i can volunteer but i have to pay 100 Dollars which seems ironic. The entire movie is shot with hand-held camera so don't expect anything Avatar-ish, but the camera men are courageous and did their best to get the right shots and scenes. On the other hand, there are a lot of boring and dull moment in the movie, especially at the beginning where literally nothing happens except people talking about whales and crap. I am not sure if that was the movie makers' fault for not picking the right scenes or that life in the sea is that boring and would have been more dull if no whales or penguins appeared, which they appeared in 10% of the movie, hardly. If you are an animal lover and like to save whales and stuff then watch it, you shouldn't get bummed at all, but if you are looking for a nice weekend movie to watch with your friends, i suggest something else. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member An intrepid record of modern-day piracy and the high-stakes battle between commerce and ecological survival. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member An intrepid record of modern-day piracy and the high-stakes battle between commerce and ecological survival. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A decent documentary about anti-whale killing and the Sea Shepherd's efforts in Antarctica - could have been much better. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member These people are heroes for putting themselves in harms way to protect the endangered whale's from barbaric hunters roaming the sea.
