Andrew Stover Film Threat Little Black Lie is unabashedly enjoyable, even if the characters are brazenly disreputable, and the lie is unbearably dishonorable. Rated: 7/10 May 14, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

San M This is one of those rare, unexpectedly good movies that you run across by accident. Just saw it on Tubi. Everything about this movie gives you the impression that it's a basic, run-of-the-mill romance thriller but all the while keeping you glued to the screen. Highly recommended! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/24 Full Review Gabriel G This dramatic piece of work was excellent start to finish. It is a very realistic portrayal at how the lies of one person can destroy many lives; how one lie can escalate completely out of control. It is very dialogue driven piece and emotionally hard. The actors in this are amazing. Truly amazing! The cinematography, the split screen montages, the dialogue – all of it was top notch. I can't stress enough how well it was written and how realistic it is. Amazing, meticulous work from first time director Todd Theman! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Don't be fooled into thinking this film is just another run-of-the-mill erotic thriller. Little Black Lie is so much more than typical. It is the kind of cinema not made much anymore because of our overly sensitive culture. The film is daring, complex, uncomfortable and even dangerous. All the characters in Little Black Lie are in equal measure likable and unlikable. This complexity of character keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat because anything could happen. It could be inspiring, tragic, romantic or horrific and we don't know for sure until the gut-punch of an ending. There are so many poetic flourishes in the film that certain sequences, in lesser hands, could have been lurid or sleazy, but in this film are difficult, realistic, unsettling and even, dare I say, meditative. The director has a clear intention of purpose and vision (definitely a voice to watch); the ending will haunt you and keep you talking for hours after the film is over. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Good acting. Love the storyline. Did not expect the ending to happen the way it did. Very impressed for a low-budget movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Was very enjoyable, but the 2nd time I saw much more and made more enjoyable Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie steps out of the box. It really draws you in and you find yourself connected with the characters. It's nice to watch a movie that is not your typical feel good happy ending movie.
