Audience Member The Missoula Children's Theater company travels all over the country in little red trucks that carry props and scenes and scripts and wonderful dedicated theater-arts instructors to places in the country where children may never otherwise be exposed to theater arts of any kind. They recruit area children to assist them in putting on a play in just one week. The children learn a whole lot more than how to perform in the course of that week, and the instructors learn so much from the children as well. Enjoyable little film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Not the cleanest of documentaries but the subject matter is awesome. The kids are cute beyond words, and one of my best friends is featured (he's kind of cute too ;-) ...) MCT does great work and this film really highlights that. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Serves as a great promo for the company of MCT (Missoula Children's Theatre) and their wonderful mission of teaching children. As a movie, it falls a little flat in that there is no real dramatic storyline to follow. But it's an interesting documentary on a fantastic company that does amazing things for the youth of the world. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Parents eager to venture outside the animation or talking-Chihuahua boxes for family entertainment should check out the documentary The Little Red Truck, an inspiring look at a diverse array of youngsters introduced to the joys of stage performing. Rated: 4/5 Oct 10, 2008 Full Review Ronnie Scheib Variety Pic's strength lies in charting a dual process, that of a play taking shape in an incredibly short amount time and of the changes wrought in the children's behavior as they learn to listen, focus, follow directions and work as a team. Sep 18, 2008 Full Review Nathan Lee New York Times If it sounds like the cutest thing in the history of cuteness, that's because it is. Rated: 4/5 Sep 12, 2008 Full Review Glenn Whipp Los Angeles Daily News It looks like a great program, but this documentary is too scattered to be all that interesting. Too many kids, too much action, not enough time. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 10, 2008 Full Review Josh Bell Las Vegas Weekly MCT is undoubtedly a worthwhile organization, but that doesn't mean it's fun to sit through what amounts to a 90-minute advertisement for the company.
