11/09/2015 Shouldn't have bothered. See more 02/09/2014 Respectable sequel to the 1966 original. It's a nice followup on the kindly British couple and lion they return to the wild. See more bill t 02/15/2013 Continuation of the Born Free franchise (which, technically, this is the last one until a cable movie many years later) different actors playing the lead roles, which suffer, as they don't have the chemistry or the believability of the first set. Anyways, it's all about the lions, though, isn't it? I guess the producers must think so. MASSIVE amount of voice over narration here, with lots and lots of animal footage. But it does pick up a lot at the end though. See more 01/13/2013 Born Free was a great family film with both adorable and ferocious animals in the film based on a true story, you would think it wouldn't need a sequel, but one was made.....and this sequel is it's well-meaning and suitable for children even if doesn't emphasise the conservation message that prevailed in the original.....I don't know why the fantastic performers Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers declined to be in the sequel, maybe they read the script following almost exactly the same thing all over again....Hampshire and Davenport are alright but not as good, and the lions are still cute, cuddly and ferocious looking, but the title song isn't as memorable as Matt Monro's....all in all anybody who has ever seen and loved "Born Free", will like this sequel.......
