Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times It's inspiring to see a unique talent finally get his due, even if - or maybe because - it took until his late 70s to get there. May 15, 2014 Full Review Jonathan Romney Film Comment Magazine A touch slapdash, repetitive, indulgent, and yet compelling, mainly because its subject is so troublingly, excessively odd. May 12, 2014 Full Review Sheri Linden The Hollywood Reporter It's a portrait of the artist as a charmingly uncompromising septuagenarian. May 7, 2014 Full Review Landon Palmer Nonfics ...a compelling, thoughtful, and sometimes hilarious depiction of the myriad factors weighing down a paintbrush as it struggles to meet a canvas. Rated: 4/5 Jun 2, 2014 Full Review Louis Proyect rec.arts.movies.reviews The finest documentary about an artist I have ever seen. Folkes is an original and every minute spent in his company will remind you why true geniuses have a hard time in an art world more commodified than McDonalds fast food. May 8, 2014 Full Review Mark Bell Film Threat Llyn Foulkes One Man Band is a quality look into the life and art of a tremendous artistic mind. Rated: 3.5/5 May 7, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews
