Hayley M A teenage coming of age film! Some very odd mother daughter relationships themes! It's a movie you have scene many times before but watch because you enjoy the comfort of knowing how it will end! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/02/23 Full Review Christen It is so bad that i couldn't look away 🫠 Between the cheesy portrayal of teenage romance, the weird, unnecessary, and awkward sexual scenes, and the strange b, c, and d stories that seemed to be an afterthought, it felt very over and underdeveloped simultaneously. This script and screenplay appeared to have actually been written by the worlds most mediocre teenager. The whole storyline and plot is the definition of cringe. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/09/23 Full Review Kassey P Just watched the French one. It's exactly the same plot, but it actually makes sense and the directing fits the coming-of-age style of this film. Miley is... barely passable and I'm glad she's thriving in music now. The dialogue is very cringy especially if you were a teen at the time this was made. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/19/23 Full Review Ethan S NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/28/23 Full Review cassidy k LOL simultaneously nails coming of age existentialism and motherhood life after divorce, all while boasting an entertaining score and gorgeous shots. The filmmakers showed excellent understanding of rich color in a dark contrast style providing a delightful 90 minute visual treat to viewers. I found it very easy to empathize with the struggles of the teen characters and the middle aged Mom. Miley Cyrus is a natural on camera and, paired with Demi Moore, delivers a believable and honest performance. It's rare that I experience a film to be both dark and "feel-good", however this stark contrast and rollercoaster of emotions is what makes this drama worthwhile. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Kahtahah P First i'd like to start with the thing that i saw first... HER TEETH i don't mean to be mean but they were crooked and just everywhere can't they do anything about that but other than that i it was ok i didn't hate it. It had the same concept of every 2015 romance movie like ever. SO other than a hot kyle and miley's teeth theres nothing new or that standed out. Joe Leydon Variety LOL is DOA, a shapeless and charmless teen-skewing trifle stocked with trendy slanguage and social-network gimcracks that make it seem like something four years past its expiration date. May 7, 2012 Full Review Jason Best Movie Talk A glossy but shallow Hollywood adaptation of the hit French film Lol: Laughing Out Loud. The original director, Liza Azuelos, is at the helm too, but the sass and spark of the French movie seems to have been lost in translation.
