Audience Member A terrific Doco sharing the incredible range of roles that the infamous man of a thousand faces Lon Chaney Snr played. The doco starts with his childhood with deaf & mute parents & his incredible dedication physically he would put in for his very demanding roles. It was amazing not only what he could do with make up but the talent he had for picking excellent productions. There are still 2 of his feature films that are lost & would be great to see but sadly not long after the sound era he passed away in 1930...a well told compelling documentary. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member well crafted bio-doc Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A thorough and engaging documentary on Cinema Legend Lon Chaney. This is quite an informative documentary and features lots of clips from his films. A must for all movie lovers, especially those who don't know who Lon Chaney is! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member A thorough and engaging documentary on Cinema Legend Lon Chaney. This is quite an informative documentary and features lots of clips from his films. A must for all movie lovers, especially those who don't know who Lon Chaney is! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Fascinating documentary about probably the greatest actor of silent cinema. Unfortunately the film comes out 70 years after Lon Chaneyâ(TM)s death and as a result there are few sources left to interview. There is no interview of Lon Chaney himself and most of those appearing are grandchildren of participants in Chaney's story or who remember seeing Chaneyâ(TM)s performances as children. Michael F. Blake, author of three books on Lon Chaney proves extremely illuminating however, providing rare detail and disseminating some of the myths regarding Chaney. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member A great documentary about the man who played in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Phantom of the Opera, and a host of others. This was a very thorough documentary with interviews collected and made for this film. It covered his techniques for creating the faces that he did as well as exploring the possibility that he was so expressive with his face because he was the son of two deaf parents. Anyone who has an interest in silent film, especially silent horrors from the US should enjoy this. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
