Anton Bitel Little White Lies the last film in the series, White Heaven in Hell, holds the all-time record for the most on-screen deaths perpetrated by an individual character in a single film Nov 19, 2009 Full Review Brian Mckay eFilmCritic.com The root of most of the dissapointment can be found in the fact that this was the final film of the series, although it was never meant to be. Audience Member It all comes to a head with an epic snowy showdown with the relentless, cowardly ruler Retsudo, and his army. It's one of the weaker entries, but it's still entertaining. I really dug adding the mystical element, with the zombie, gopher-samurai. It's too bad the series ended here, but I can see why it did. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member The red headed step child of the series... samurai on skis? Yeah, right. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Bit of a weak finale - but the kill count in this one is just crazy.. feel a bit cheated on this one tho. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member "Let's Go To Hell, Daigoro!" is a nice ending to the series. It takes Itto to a new landscape for a ski/sled showdown in the snow. The 150 kills Ogami racks up is allegedly the biggest body count for an individual, surpassing the 141 in Shoot 'Em Up. There's more than 100 in the finale alone, a fitting swansong. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member White Heaven in Hell is a disappointing end to the film series and isn't as consistent as with the others, but in the end it is still indeed a Lone Wolf and Cub film and it does feel as spectacular. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Wes M I was so pumped to see the epic conclusion of this awesome series...turns out it was left unfinished. AHH! What the hell >:O It looks like there was definitely supposed to be a 7th and final movie, cuz this one was all about the main story arc. And since I looked up the manga that the films are based off, sure enough, the story doesn't end here. O well, it's still been a blast. These films NEED a blu-ray transfer, and they are easily worth a watch and a re-watch. I don't even know if I can pick out a favorite one. 2 was the most-action packed, 3 prolly had the best story that wasn't the main plotline. This one, 6, was the most "magical" and the weirdest haha. 4 was not nearly on-par with the rest, idk different director that didn't know how to emulate Kenji Misumi, but the guy who made 6 did know how to bring back that classic style. But all-in-all, I loved this series to "death" (sorry, bad joke). Now on to more chanbara! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/25/12 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
